Creation Care

"God saw all he had made, and it was very good" - Genesis

Earth Day - Worship and Celebration

Since 2018 Zion Lutheran Church has marked Earth Day by giving thanks for God's creation through worship and service. God has given us an incredible gift in this planet and the creatures we share it with; it is our duty to be good stewards of what has been entrusted to our care. ๐ŸŒŽ

Our worship service for the day has taken on a number of different aspects. From highlighting creation oriented Biblical lessons to beautiful new music and timely sermons, we look to bring our thanksgiving for the Earth and its Creator into our worship life. We hope you'll add your voice to ours! ๐ŸŽถ

Our community vegetable garden has been intimately associated with our congregation's creation care ministry - we sow seeds, plant, and weed the grounds to make ready for new life and new growth. The "kick-off" of our planting season has traditionally been after worship on Earth Day Sunday. We invite you to take part, you don't need a "green-thumb!" ๐Ÿงค

Our marking of this day has also included fellowship luncheons, unique activities and crafts for the children, and educational opportunties to equip ourselves to be good advocates for environmental justice. We aim to share these gifts, lessons, and passions with our community. Will you join us? ๐ŸŒฑ
