Worship Adjustments for COVID 19:

Congregational Announcement!

Beginning November 29th through December 20th (Sundays of Advent) Zion's Congregation Council is suspending in-person worship due to the troubling rise in COVID-19 cases in Northumberland County and throughout the Commonwealth. We will reevaluate the situation in time when considering Christmas Eve services. This is a difficult decision that is not taken lightly. In the meantime, please continue to visit our website or Facebook page each Sunday for online worship.

We pray you remain healthy and safe. Please wear your masks, distance, and follow all other CDC guidelines, for both your sake and for love of your neighbors.

Our regular weekly services are held in the church’s nave (main building) and chapel. The service follows the traditional Church liturgy with the singing of a diverse group of hymns set to the tune of our pipe organ or piano and led by our choir. There is a children’s lesson, sermon, and Holy Communion is celebrated.

Usually on the third Sunday of each month. During the summer, this service is done outside (weather permitting), in our Biblical Garden or Sunbury’s amphitheater. The music is upbeat and features a mix of guitar, piano, drums, and vocals from our “praise team." Holy Communion is celebrated.

Participating in holiday services at Zion is an amazing experience. During Holy Week there are many special services surrounding: Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter. For Christmas, Zion offers a traditional “midnight mass," featuring favorite hymns and carols. Our handbell choir joins our organist and local musicians in bringing the church to life with spectacular musical arrangements.
